A memo from the office of...

A memo from the Office of the First Lady:

cc: The President
      White House Residents
White House Staff (of which there is currently none,
but someday, hopefully, there will be)

This is to confirm that, effective immediately, the First Lady will not entertain homework inquiries or signature requests while in the lavatory. This has, up until this point, not been official White House policy, as it was thought to be naturally understood by all residents.

However, recent activity has revealed this to evidently NOT be a common understanding. Thus, henceforth, it shall be official White House policy to meet all such inquiries and requests with a non-response.

If the non-response fails in encouraging the perpetrator(s) to cease and desist such activities, extreme disciplinary measures will be taken.

Please note that this policy does not apply to inquiries or requests made by the First Lady while she is in the lavatory. All such communication shall receive a swift and clear response from the resident who is, at that time, within closest distance to the First Lady.

Thank you for your cooperation,
The Office of the First Lady

It's always important to make things official.

May I suggest a public posting on said lavatory door(s)?
