Credit where credit is due...

This morning was the usual tug of war to get a five year old out of bed, dressed, teeth brushed and ready in time to get to the bus stop with his three siblings.

Ian: Cry. Whine. "I'm coooooold!" "I'm tiiiiiiired!" "I caaaaaan't!"

Me: "Yes, you can. Don't say, 'I can't.' That's not allowed anymore. No more, 'I can't.'"

Ian: Quiet whimpering. Pause. "It's impossible!"

Well, I have to give him credit. He didn't say, "I can't."

Poor Sleepy Ian! :)

And in the "grass is greener" moment I am having, I am wondering if I'd rather have a kid who didn't want to get out of bed or two kids who wake up at 5:30 every morning?? Hmmmmmm.

I've been surprised how well Alexis is doing (knock on wood) in the morings since she started Kindergarten. Waking her up and helping her get ready for pre-school was sometimes tough and we had lots of whinny mormings. But, Kindergarten so far has been okay. Ha, now for just saying that tomorrow morning will be a crazy and hectic morning.
