Colorado in California

Yesterday the kids and I descended the stairs shortly after 7am, just like every other school morning. It had been raining all night, and a glance out the sliding glass door revealed a drenched... well... a drenched everything. Music to my Oregonian heart. But as my eyes looked beyond the concrete wall at the back of our minuscule backyard and began to focus on the hills in the distance, I gasped with delight. "Kids! Kids! Look! Look at the hills!"

Sure enough, God saw it fit to bring a little bit of Colorado to California yesterday morning. Snow. Glorious snow. There were eerily dark clouds to the north, and more moving up from the south. But for a few minutes a break in the sky revealed the white capped tips, just long enough for me to snap a picture.

No sooner did I place the camera back in its pouch when another batch of low lying clouds rolled over and the snow was hidden from view. All day yesterday I kept looking, watching. More clouds. I wanted Nate to see, too. Nothing.

I love the rain. Wonderful, beautiful rainy days. But, the snow? I think God sent that just to say, "See? I haven't forgotten. I love you."

Oh Angela!!! How I dream of trading places with you for a day to give you a break and more of God's love!!!!!!!!!! That is if snow=love because I don't think it has stopped snowing here in Idaho since I arrived 3 weeks ago. I WANT YOUR SUNSHINE!!! Maybe we can do a house swap for a week like that show The Holiday??? What do you think :^0

I really have to say...the whole Narnia theme sounding from my speakers, as I'm reading about your shoe fetish and snow capped mountains, is REALLY kind of spooky. Keeps catching me off guard as I'm frantically searching around my screen to see what virus my software has missed and is running the theme song of doom as it wipes my hard drive. Then I remember....Narnia.

Yes snow!!!!! Your the best and I am not sure that you have to think of any creative ways to make angels, since GOD has made The White Family.

I LOVE it when the dark clouds part and we see the bright white snow on our local hills. Last year we even got snow here in Fontana, the first time in my life I saw snow falling on me while I looked up. It was truly magic...

Blessings my friend Oh, and did you notice I blogged about you yesterday? Hee Hee
